Mosquito Spraying Planned for Delaware City – Tuesday, July 6th

A message from DNREC-MOSQUITO CONTROL

Weather permitting; the Delaware Mosquito Control Section plans the following insecticide application(s) during the evening hours on Tuesday, July 6, 2021:

Application of Anvil 10+10 (Sumithrin/PBO) with a truck-mounted sprayer to control adult mosquitoes in the following areas:

Portion of Delaware City surrounding the Community Center; Fort DuPont between the Branch Canal, Officers Row, and Old Elm Avenue; community of Bay View Beach; and select individual properties in greater Bear and Middletown.

For notification purposes, spraying will be done in the following zone(s): 35, 37, 43, and 49.

All insecticides to be used are registered with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for mosquito control and will be applied according to EPA approved label instructions. The EPA has determined that these insecticides do not pose unreasonable risks to human health, wildlife, or the environment.
